Bummer! NBC Scraps 'Xena: Warrior Princess' Reboot

Xena’s sword is going back in its scabbard. According to SFGate, NBC's planned reboot of “Xena: Warrior Princess” was scrapped when writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach quit, citing creative differences. Rob Tapert--the original co-creator of “Xena”--and Sam Raimi had been heading up the project for Ghost House Pictures in association with NBC International Television Studios. The revival was to star a new actress in Lucy Lawless’ signature role. In the original series, Lawless played a warrior seeking redemption for past sins. It ran in syndication for six seasons before signing off in June 2001.
