Designer Stephen Crowley has created pictures of his 18-month old daughter Hannah that see her balancing precariously from the top of the stairs and playing with knives.

And while most people have appreciated his work as a designer, others have criticised the proud dad and failed to see the humour in his creations.

Stephen told Dublin Live: “I work as a designer, so thought it would be fun to worry family by putting someone delicate in precarious situations.

“Most of the reactions have been positive, with the odd person not getting the joke and commenting I 'should be shot'.”

The 32-year-old makes the most of his time with the tot as her early start in life wasn’t easy.

Little Hannah was diagnosed with a rare immune disorder called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis when she was just four months old.

She spent six months in hospital until she was 10 months old, where she received chemotherapy and eventually a bone marrow transplant – which is the only possible cure.

Stephen, from Dublin, said: “Because we missed out on so much normal stuff of the first year, we take tons of photos now that we’re able to do normal things out of isolation.

“She is doing much better now, in and out of hospital, and has a great sense of humour given what she’s been through so far.

“She is still visiting the hospital for check-ups and on some medication, but the team under Dr Leahy in Crumlin hospital did an incredible job in getting her back to health.”

Stephen is using the attention from his photos to raise awareness about becoming a bone marrow donor.

Out of 27 million worldwide donors, only three were suitable for Hannah. An anonymous German donor saved her life.
