The family of Formula One tycoon Bernie Ecclestone have said they are relieved daughter Petra's divorce has finally been granted.

Petra and businessman husband James Stunt have been in a bitter dispute over their fortune for the past year.

Petra's sister Tamara posted her support on Instagram saying, 'You're a diamond dear, they can't break you.'

In July, James Stunt posted an online tirade aimed at billionaire Formula One tycoon Bernie Ecclestone following his split from wife Petra Ecclestone with whom he has three children.

Stunt, 35, labelled Ecclestone, 86, a "filthy second-hand car dealer", accusing him of making horrific allegations against him.

He claimed his estranged wife Petra, 28, still loved him and will never agree to a divorce, before fighting back tears saying, "We have three beautiful children. We've been together for 11 years.

"I miss her terribly and I miss my children to death."

He was also concerned his daughter was old enough to hear some of the lies he claims are being spread about him.

"My daughter’s old enough to hear things. I don’t want her being made fun of because of what people hear in the papers. It makes me feel terrible," he says in the video, explaining that he's speaking out now because he thinks his former father-in-law is trying to "goad him" by leaking stories to the press.

"I've been falling for his antics," he says. "The truth is I'm heartbroken. I'm not some tough guy. I understand why the public don't like me. They see a d---khead. They're probably asking, 'Who's this jumped up w--ker?'

"But I’m not a bad person. I did the video because my wife is calling me a liar. The poor girl is traumatised."

In the clip Stunt described the Ecclestone family as a "mixture of the Kardashians and the Mansons family", accusing Ecclestone of spreading lies.

"Horrific allegations have been made against me by an evil dwarf named Bernie Ecclestone," he says.

Stunt said he had no choice but to speak out after allegations made by Ecclestone to the Mail on Sunday that Stunt had once threatened to 'blow Petra's head off" during an argument, claiming the businessman is "impressed" by gangsters.

"He's impressed with those sort of people. I think he watches all those gangster films and had a big respect for them," Ecclestone alleged.

Petra Ecclestone moved out of the couple's £75m ($126m AUD) West London mansion in February.
