The heart melting photo shows big sister Maxwell clasping the baby’s hand as they meet for the first time. Jessica previously revealed that the six-year-old was ‘so happy’ that she was having a girl.

The couple also have a son, five-year-old Ace who seems equally thrilled at becoming a big brother.

They ask me the craziest questions that I can’t say on TV … ‘How does the baby come out?’

‘Where does the milk come from, I don’t understand!’ I’m a little bit too honest, and Eric’s like, ‘I don’t think we need to give out ALL the information, Jessica. So, I’m scaring my kids, I think.’

The birth comes after a difficult pregnancy which saw the star hospitalised with bronchitis.

‘Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey.

I am slowly getting healthier every day,’ she shared with fans at the time.

‘Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing!

I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile.’

Jessica was also forced to buy a special recliner to sleep on due to severe acid reflux and has also battled with insomnia and back pain.

In spite of her struggles the star remained upbeat and kept fans entertained with her witty observations about her pregnancy woes which included breaking a toilet seat.

Jessica also admitted that despite being overjoyed by her arrival that Birdie Mae wasn’t exactly planned.

I thought about [having another baby], but I didn’t really know that it could actually happen. We definitely always love to practice.

We actually weren’t practicing very much that month so I don’t understand. We try [to figure it out]. This might be a miracle baby,’ she said in a recent interview.
