Mum who snapped ‘Fab Four’ photo has new encounter with royals

Kate Anvil, 40, captured the famous ‘Fab Four’ photo of Princes William and Harry and their wives Kate and Meghan at Sandringham on Christmas Day last year. The royal snap went on to rake in over $AU72,000 last year.

With incentive like that, it’s no surprise Anvil’s teenage daughter appears to be following in her mum’s snap-happy footsteps.

Rachel Anvil managed to take a gorgeous image of the Duchess of Cambridge arriving at the 72nd annual EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday.

The picture, which has garnered over 1,200 like on Twitter, shows Kate in an asymmetric white gown by Alexander McQueen, laughing and looking directly into Rachel’s camera, with Prince William partially visible behind her.

When asked how she captured the image, Karen revealed to the Daily Mail that she had managed to bag tickets right next to the entrance door. Rachel, a trainee cancer nurse, had been eager to snap a picture to rival her mum’s. The trick, it seems, is to shout something (kind, of course) to get the royal’s attention.

When William and Kate approached, Rachel shouted out, ‘I just want to say you look really beautiful'. Laughing, Kate turned to smile at her before replying: 'Thank you so much'.

The mother-daughter duo travelled to the awards in London after receiving the tickets from Apple, who offered them a prime position spot on the red carpet alongside their competition winners, away from the press and the public.

Speaking about their exciting evening, Karen said: 'Usually I wear wellies and jeans but I dressed up in heels and dress for the occasion.’
