Gold Coast hooker Paul Carter will miss one game after being found guilty of a careless high tackle at the NRL judiciary.

Carter will be forced to sit out his side's clash with the Rabbitohs next weekend after unsuccessfully defending a grade 1 charge.

He was charged for a tackle on Tigers winger David Nofoaluma in the closing stages of the Gold Coast's 22-6 win at Leichhardt Oval on the weekend.

The Titans chose to fight the charge even though an early guilty plea would have allowed Carter to play against the Rabbitohs.
