Step 1 Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart. Hold a small medicine ball directly in front of your hips. Keep a slight bend in your elbows.

Step 2 Brace your core. Step forward about 2–3 feet. Drop your hips toward the floor until the back of your leg becomes almost parallel to the ground. Pause at the bottom. Reverse back to starting position and perform the prescribed number of repetitions before switching sides.
