While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven't even welcomed their first child yet (we think anyway...), the royal baby already has a nickname, and it's quite unusual.

After the Duchess of Sussex fell in love with Cliveden House – the £500 ($900 AUD) a night hotel she stayed the night before the royal wedding – hotel staff staff nicknamed Baby Sussex "Clive", The Sun reports.

The royal couple reportedly had a few secret stays there last summer, which has resulted in staff members dubbing the royal bub the "Cliveden baby", joking Baby Sussex was conceived at the five-star hotel.

"Harry and Meghan were always popping back to Cliveden for romantic stays after their wedding," a source told the outlet.

“Staff are joking that their baby is a Cliveden baby and if it’s a boy they should call him Clive, as they enjoyed their time so much there."

While Harry and Meghan's baby may have already garnered a nickname, there's still been much speculation about what the royal couple will name their first child.

Some bookmakers believe Diana is a strong contender if it's a girl, and Albert for a boy.

Meanwhile many others are under the impression the royal couple might opt for a less traditional name.

However, the moniker for the royal baby remains under wraps, just like the birth plans.

Earlier this month, a Kensington Palace spokesperson revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to "keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private".

The representative also confirmed Harry and Meghan would not be sharing any details about their first child until "they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family".

However, it's pretty clear Meghan could give birth any day now. So, we'll just have sit back and, unfortunately, wait.
