Gigi Hadid Adds Fashion Designer To Resumè With Her Own Knitwear Line, ‘Guest In Residence’

Gigi Hadid has built herself an illustrious and lifelong career in the modelling industry. But now, she's turning her talents toward fashion with a knitwear-focused clothing brand.

On August 4, the mother-of-one took to Instagram to share the news that she has been working on building a clothing brand, called Guest In Residence, where she will serve as the brand's founder and creative director.

"Been workin on something... with love, @guestinresidence," she wrote, alongside a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos.

In the images, Hadid can be seen on set for a photoshoot and sifting through an array of fabric swatches and designs, as well as sporting some of the products herself.

From what we can see, the brand will likely be focusing on knitwear tops, from thicker sweaters to thin, knit tops. And by the looks of the fabric and its high quality, there's a chance that the brand could have a focus in cashmere.

"What we've all been waiting for," her younger sister Bella commented. "So excited about this," Hailey Bieber said, followed by Queer Eye's Tan France who wrote, "I can't wait for everyone to get to see this line."

Of course, the fashion industry is far from foreign to Hadid. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger, Reebok, Stuart Weitzman, and most recently Frankies Bikinis. On top of that, she will also be serving as a co-host, alongside France, for the second season of Netflix's honorary fashion competition show, Next In Fashion.

What products will be available in Guest In Residence?

Given that Guest In Residence is yet to launch, there's no confirmation on the first collection from the brand. However, Hadid has thankfully left us an abundance of clues on her social media.

Launching the Guest In Residence Instagram account, there are no posts yet but the bio simply reads, "KNITTERS", as well as a link to the website, which is obviously stripped bare—other than a logo and an option to sign up to the newsletter.

For impatient fans, Hadid did share a sneak peek of the line on her Instagram Stories. In the image, the model is taking a faceless selfie of herself in one of the line's products, a lilac purple vest with a pearl and puka shell necklace.

When will Guest In Residence launch?

Currently, there's no word on when Hadid plans to launch Guest In Residence.

However, since she has shared how long she's been working on the brand, the prototypes she's been working on and the apparent final pieces of the collection, the knitwear brand could easily be around the corner.

Until then, be sure to keep checking here for any updates on Guest In Residence.
