Most iconic fashion items of the past 50 years revealed

Made famous by Twiggy in the Sixties, the mini has been voted the most iconic fashion item of the past 50 years.

Decades after being worn by the model, Mary Quant’s design remains a style staple.

Bell-bottom jeans, pencil skirts and knee-high boots also made the top 10.

Though half of the 2,000 women polled believe fashion rules have changed, with nearly one in five saying clothes for over-50s are sexier now, retailer Peter Hahn found.
