Suzuki has announced a limited-edition Swift Sports Red Devil, set to arrive in July from $29,156 drive-away. Just 100 examples of the red-and-black hatchback will be offered Down Under, all finished in Burning Red with carbon-black decals on the bonnet, front bumper, and doors, along with the front and rear quarter panels.

Beyond the special paint job and sticker pack, the Red Devil is mechanically identical to the Swift Sport launched earlier this year. That means it's powered by a 1.4-litre 'BoosterJet' turbo four-cylinder engine making 103kW and 230Nm, put to the road through a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Although there are no mechanical changes, you'll pay a hefty premium for the Red Devil. It's priced from $29,156 drive-away as a manual, which is the $28,490 you'd pay for a regular Sport with metallic paint, plus a beastly $666 for the Red Devil package. The automatic adds $2000 to that figure.

Pricing for the wider Swift Sports range has been revised as of June 1, with a new drive-away starting price of $27,990 for the manual and $29,990 for the automatic.

At launch, the car was priced from $25,490 before on-roads in manual guise, and $27,490 before plus ORCs as an automatic.“A true testament to an incredibly hot hatch, the all-new Swift Sports Turbo has been a great success since its launch in January this year," said Michael Pachota, managing director for Suzuki Australia.

"The Red Devil offers a hot new colour accentuated with an awesome carbon styled decal pack that really brings out the aggressive design cues of the Swift Sport.”
