Nearly 60 NSW schools forced to close amid bushfire emergency

Close to 60 schools and TAFES have been closed on the New South Wales mid-north coast as dozens of fires grip the state.

More schools are expected to shut their doors on Tuesday as weather conditions worsen.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian declared a state of emergency on Monday – the first state of emergency issued in the state since 2013.
