
NSW legal bodies concerned at new bail laws
Legal bodies say New South Wales' new bail laws will likely see more Indigenous people imprisoned and could derail progress on closing the gap. The reforms, which passed through parliament yesterday, will mean offenders won't be granted bail between their conviction and sentencing if they're likely to do prison time. But there are concerns the one-size fits all approach will do more harm than good.
