A northern suburbs Perth Muslim family has been shaken after their car was spray-painted with racist and hateful messages overnight.

It wasn't until they woke up to prepare a bottle for their 11 month old son - that they saw the damage.

The incident comes just days after the Christchurch terrorist attack that left 50 people dead.

Victim Mariam Hassan feared for her family's safety but is defiant.

"It's like, do people hate us? It's upsetting," she said.

"The person, you don't know who it is, but they could come back and they could do something worse. They probably wouldn't even be afraid.

"It's like they're trying to scare you and say get out of my country.
