Populations expected to flourish in NSW’s Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains is expected to become one of the most important koala colonies in the country as the effects of climate change continue to increase. The species was listed as endangered by the Commonwealth Government last year, but in the mountains west of Sydney their population is on the rise. Researchers now believe the blue mountains habitat will be one of the last remaining koala sanctuaries.
