Director of the Australian War Memorial Brendan Nelson says Remembrance Day “binds us in the face of adversity born largely by what we’ve seen in military service”.

“Today in modern Australia, Remembrance Day is the day we pause to reflect upon the political, economic and religious freedoms that we enjoy, that have been underwritten for us and delivered by two million Australian men and women who wear and have worn the uniform of our three service,” he told Sky News.
