Three people have been arrested in a dramatic police operation in Sydney's west over the suspicious death of a Geelong woman whose body was found in a burnt-out tent.

Officers from the tactical operations unit swooped on a home on Gipps Road at Greystanes just after 4pm, arresting two men and a woman wanted in Victoria, a spokeswoman for NSW Police said.

Police confirmed the trio were arrested in relation to the death of a 29-year-old Waurn Ponds woman whose body was found inside a burnt tent at a camping ground on Breakwater Road, shortly before 2am on Tuesday.

One man was taken out of the home on a stretcher.

Victorian homicide detectives are understood to be en route to Sydney before an expected extradition of the trio on Friday.

The two men and woman have been detained for an arrest warrant issued in Victoria.
