Bowraville decision disappointing: NSW Attorney-General

March 22, 2019. NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman speaks outside the High Court in Sydney after the court refused to hear an appeal against a decision rejecting a bid for a man to face a single trial on charges of murdering three Indigenous children in Bowraville almost 30 years ago. Speakman says the ruling was disappointing and the families felt an injustice. He says the initial investigation was plagued by “casual racism at best, or even worse than that”.
