Mark Milligan will captain the side in the absence of regular skipper Mile Jedinak.

The Socceroos take on the world champions on Monday night (Tuesday 1am AEST), and coach Ange Postecoglou has eschewed his normal practice of selection surprises.

Mat Ryan starts in goal ahead of a back three of Trent Sainsbury, Milos Degenek and Wright - preferred to Ryan McGowan.

Luongo - not positional rival Jackson Irvine - will partner Milligan in the heart of midfield.

As expected, Aziz Behich and Mat Leckie will play wide, Aaron Mooy and Tom Rogic are Australia's attacking midfielders and Tomi Juric will lead the line.

The match will be the seventh time Milligan has skippered the side, the last being the World Cup qualifier with United Arab Emirates in September last year.
