New South Wales let another series slip out of their hands and while they may have drank their sorrows away after their game, there are reports some players started their drinking session in the lead up to the decider at Suncorp Stadium.

The Blues were stunned, outclassed and demolished in the decider as Queensland saved their best effort until last, playing with twice as much desire and heart as their state rivals.

Triple M's Matty Johns said the team's concentration and antics in the build up to and during the game could have had an effect on the result.

''In Game II we played dumb...and in Game III we didn't play football at all,'' Johns said.

''There's stories coming out of camp, things with players going out of camp, getting on the drink and things like that.''

© Sporting News Fellow broadcaster Gus Worland was shocked at the claims.

''How can you be in the New South Wales camp and knick-off and go to a pub?'' Worland said.

''You can't go to a pub, sit there and get on the drink and get on the punt and not have people go...'oh that's that player who plays for New South Wales'.

''What were they thinking?''
