Level up Your Cocktail Game at This Super Mario Themed Bar

It turns out the world of Bowser and Princess Peach is just a cocktail away. Through April 15th, the Cherry Blossom PUB (Pop-up Bar) in Washington D.C. will be serving up cocktails like the “King Koopa Cup” (with Japanese whiskey, Genmaicha “popcorn” tea, and ginger syrup with lemon crown) and “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Smaller” (with vodka, mandarin orange, pomelo, and apricot soda) amid a plethora of Super Mario Bros. inspired décor.

The bar has been completely transformed to resemble the Mushroom Kingdom, complete with LED lit mystery blocks, animatronic piranha plants that descend from overhead green pipes, and a wall-sized diorama that recreates the side-scrolling World. But the pièce de résistance is a Star Power button that prompts all the light-up décor to flash, the Mario Star Power music to play, and a Golden Mario to appear from a pipe in the ceiling. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a beverage after a long day of traversing giant plumbing and evading Koopa Troopas.
