Help Street founder attacks People Care over Gold Coast retirement village closure

July 16, 2019. Help Street founder Kris Bunker addresses the media on the Gold Coast about the Earle Haven Retirement Village incident last week when dozens of elderly patients were caught in the middle of a pay dispute between the sub-contractor Help Street and owners of the facility, People Care. HelpStreet, which was contracted to run the home, claims it hasn't been paid by People Care. Patients were evacuated from the home last week after it was suddenly closed and stripped of equipment and other items like food. "We fully support a police investigation, we have nothing to hide," Mr Bunt says. "It's our view that serious questions need to be asked about People Care and its business practices..we arrived to urine soaked mattresses, bedding and towels with holes in them and food described as slop. We turned that around." (AAP Video/Robyn Wuth)
