NSW Premier pushes for planning review after hotel development rejected

August 19, 2019. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian speaking about her government's call to review planning in Pyrmont after plans for a high rise luxury hotel were rejected. The premier on Monday announced a separate review by the Greater Sydney Commission of the planning rules hindering the tower's development. Berejiklian says it is about ensuring development is looked at to benefit the whole city and is hoping to have an answer on the proposed building within a month. The Star's multi-million dollar plan for the 237-metre high Ritz Carlton tower was rejected in July by the state's planning department."It's important that we send a strong message that we need to be very strategic in how we plan for future development," she says.
