PM meets public service chiefs and spells out his agenda

May 23, 2019. The Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack convene their first cabinet meeting with the public service in Canberra after the Liberal Nationals Coalition win in the 2019 election. The Prime Minister says the "Australian people have given us a very specific task" and he expects the public service will deliver on the agenda of the government. Mr Morrison outlined three key areas the government will seek clear direction from the public service chiefs. The economy to support the budget and financial management, the strategic and economic uncertainties of the world, the delivery of all public services "without congestion". The Deputy Prime Minster Michael McCormack addressing the heads of the bureaucracy and says the government is placing its trust in the public service to perform in a timely manner.
