Not all classic cars get to live a nice life. Some, like this rusted-out Mazda Cosmo, are left to rot away in the corner of a garage, unloved and forgotten. But the owner of this car has just put it up for sale on eBay, meaning it has the chance to finally be restored back to perfection.

This Cosmo - a rare first-generation L10A model - was purchased back in 1989 by the seller with the intention of performing a full restoration. However, after the owner purchased another Cosmo, this example was turned into a parts car and put aside.

Though this Cosmo is missing many of its pieces (including its ultra-rare 982cc Wankel rotary engine), it remains mostly complete. The glass, wheels, taillights, and much of the interior is still present and accounted for. Additionally, the seller says the car will come with an engine and transmission from a later RX3, though the seller states their conditions are unknown.

Series I cars like these have been steadily rising in value recently. A pristine example of the same model year sold for just over $120,000 at the Goodwood Revival this past weekend. Obviously, this car isn't in the same condition, but judging by these prices, this car might just be worth the investment.

The car is sitting on eBay with a current bid of £4,544 (or around $5981) with reserve not met and eight days remaining. Please, save it.
