The Rolls-Royce Wraith inspired the automaker to make a film about it called “ And the World Stood Still,” and now that it’s been accepted into the British Film Institute (BFI) National Archive, it calls for a celebration. For Rolls, there’s no better way to celebrate than with another special edition, which comes in the form of the Wraith “Inspired by Film” edition debuting at the 2015 New York International Auto Show this week.

As usual, the special-edition Wraith commemorates the occasion and the automaker’s long heritage in film including movies like “Goldfinger” and “The Thomas Crowne Affair” with a number of bespoke elements. It all starts with a unique two-tone Silver and Jubilee Silver exterior paint job that symbolizes the silver screen. The centerpiece, however, is a solid silver and hand-cast Spirit of Ecstasy that’s propped on the edge of the hood. Inside, black Anthracite leather covers the seats, which are accented by a Casdan Tan color. The open-pore wood features a unique V-shaped design, while tons of aluminum elements make the colors pop. Hardware elements underneath the hood remain untouched, which means the Wraith’s 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12 continues to make 624 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

Rolls-Royce says the special car continues the theme of the film, which introduced the Wraith as the most powerful and technologically advanced Rolls in history. It was filmed at a secret location in Barcelona, Spain, and aside from being accepted into the BFI archive, it received a Gold Award at the 26th International Visual Communications Association Awards.

You can catch the Wraith “Inspired by Film” at the 2015 New York show, and after that, customers will be able to put their orders into dealers, though we don’t yet know how many examples will be built.
