Canada ‘running the risk of being alone’ in Haiti if it responds too quickly to U.S. pressure: Chrétien
Former prime minister Jean Chrétien said Friday, as he entered the House of Commons ahead of a speech by U.S. President Joe Biden, that Canada is “running the risk of being alone in Haiti” if it responds too quickly to U.S. pressure to intervene in the Caribbean nation. Canada has faced pressure to lead a military mission in Haiti, which has been plagued by gang violence.
