The awards were based on four days of intensive “real world” back-to-back testing – same roads, same day, same conditions – by AJAC member journalists from all across Canada, on the track, on real-world roads and, where appropriate, on off-road trails at and around Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) in Ontario. Last October.

Initially, winners were selected in eight separate vehicle categories and the winners of those categories then became eligible for the overall awards. The scoring system encompasses a broad range of parameters including occupant environment, performance, ride and handling, value, safety, environmental responsibility, market significance and consumer appeal.
