ItalDesign Volkswagen Go! Concept

Although compact people-movers didn't really exist back in the '70s when ItalDesign was working with Volkswagen, the German automaker commissioned the Italian design house to create a Golf-sized people mover concept for the future. The result is the Go!Like the Tex, the Go! rides on Volkswagen's new modular transverse architecture designed to accommodate a wide range of powertrain options. In the Go!, VW's Blue-e-motion electric-vehicle technology allows the concept to travel 240 km on electric juice alone.Where the Tex may emphasize performance, the Go! puts practicality first. Despite being about the same length as a Ford Fiesta hatchback, ItalDesign says the Go! has comparable amounts of interior room to a large SUV. It also boasts unique rear doors that swing out and backwards, similar to a minivan, but without the tracks - sure to be a boon in tight parking spots.
