Think you can’t get a new car for less than $15,000? Think again.

It’s pretty amazing what you can get for less than $15,000 nowadays. Each one of these cars have ABS and traction/stability control, along with at least six airbags, all in compliance with government regulations, so you know they’re safe. Because of their small engines, relative low weight and smart engine development, they don’t use a lot of fuel. And for the most part, should last 10 years without much worry. These are no longer the Hyundai Ponies, Chevrolet Cavalier and Dodge Neons with ancient engines, lazily screwed together and lucky to not fall apart within the first year. Let’s keep that in perspective when considering these cars.Click through to see what $15,000 buys today.
