Hey, old man: Next time take the bus!

A 64-year-old Australian man was foiled in his efforts to commit a carjacking at knife point this week when he failed to allow extra time to load his walker and groceries. The Queensland senior bought a knife at Kmart, and then proceeded to the parking lot, where he tried to use it to hold up a 22-year-old woman, according to the Geelong Advertiser. The woman called the police, and before the smooth would-be criminal could load his walker and his groceries into her car, they had arrived.I realize how unfunny this is. Being held up at knifepoint is no joke, no matter the circumstances. But if you are going to get carjacked, this is the way to do it. At least when she tells people about the incident, she can say, “I was once almost carjacked by the stupidest man in Australia.”-- Annette McLeod for MSN AutosMSN looks back at more of history's car biggest car theft stories.
