Oh, Canada! Cars made for our great nation

Since 1996, Acura's entry-level model in Canada has differed compared to the United States. Whereas the Americans continued with the four-door Integra, Canadians were treated to the EL. Essentially a Honda Civic in a nice suit, the EL received a stronger 1.6-litre four-cylinder previously unavailable in a sedan in Canada, stiffer suspension, leather seats and more, along with different lights and fascias. The 1.6 was replaced by the 1.7 EL in 2001, which lasted until 2005. In '06, the CSX debuted in the same formula as before - based on the then-new Civic, but with a more powerful 2.0-litre engine and more toys. The combined EL/CSX line has been the best-selling Acura in Canada since it was introduced.
