2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Almost six decades ago, Mercedes-Benz celebrated its post-war revival with the creation of the 300SL Gullwing. What could be more fitting than to reinforce its commitment to producing high-performance street cars in this new century than by introducing an homage to that legendary car in the form of the SLS AMG?But it was more than a long hood and a pair of gullwing doors that make the new SLS AMG a worthy spiritual successor to the '50s-era speedster. Powered by a 6.2-litre V8 producing 563 hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, the $198,000 SLS AMG can get to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reach an electronically governed 317 km/h. It also bookmarks another chapter in the AMG saga, as its first full in-house vehicle design.
