Be prepared

Ahead of time, make sure all your insurance documents, vehicle registration and driver's licence are up-to-date and all together in the car with you. Some people prefer to take their information with them when they leave their vehicles, so if that's you, make sure it makes it back into the car with every drive. Or, simply leave photocopies in the glove compartment. Also, keep an emergency kit with warning triangles, booster cables, flares, a basic screwdriver set, water, bandages and more.
