Saab 96

Sweden's Nordic environment didn't just breed great rally drivers; it bred great rally cars too. Admittedly, Saab's 96 isn't well known, but it did make people take notice of the upstart automaker in its day. Like the Mini Cooper, it was out-gunned in power, but more than made up for it with rock-steady roadholding and reliability. The 96 made its mark on rally history, winning the RAC (British) Rally three times between 1960 and 1962, and the Monte Carlo Rally in 1961 and 1962.
