Some names tower over the automotive industry like giants. They’ve grown to become vast international corporations and powerful mega brands moulded and nurtured over a century or more for the express purpose of selling cars. It’s easy to forget that many of the car world’s biggest names were men first, men who, by accident or design, left their indelible mark on the motoring world.Eiji Toyoda, Toyota’s longest serving president and the cousin of founder Kiichiro Toyoda, passed away in September. Aged 100, he left behind a legacy that still manifests itself on the streets today.
