The best day at work ever for NHRA Pro Stock drivers went down at the Chevrolet Performance Nationals with the "Pro Stock Battle of the Burnouts: Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em" contest. During the five qualifying sessions at the event the drivers had the chance to burn some rubber like Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins and Warren Johnson in true old school Pro Stock fashion with the chance to win prizes.

The fans had a direct impact on who won the challenge by tracking the drivers through each round of qualifying and awarding 200 points to the winner. The runner up got 100 points respectively. These points counted toward the grand prize of $5,000 In addition, Goodyear co-sponsored the event awarded the winning driver of each round a set of Goodyear slicks.

NHRA announcers, Brian Lohnes, Alan Reinhart, and Joe Castello judged the burnouts and once the field has been narrowed down the results were in. In first place was Deric Kramer who narrowly won over Shane Gray for the win. Although they both had 400 points once the smoke cleared, Kramer had racked up more wins thereby giving him the edge.
