Since Disney announced its plans to begin making live-action remakes of some of its animated classics, people have been dying to see The Lion King in its reimagined glory. Not only has Disney done a killer job with the animation, they also absolutely nailed the casting of the film. Seth Rogen and Jimmy Kimmel talk Canada, The Lion King, and Beyonce last night.

Yesterday, July 10th, Canadian actor Seth Rogen made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, during which he and the host talked plenty about what Rogen has been up to lately, including his latest film project.

During the interview, Rogen said that he was super excited he could finally bring his nephews to one of his film premieres, as they've been asking to see one of his movies for ages, but obviously, Rogen's typical films aren't very child-friendly.

"I think they were starting to think that I was lying to them about being an actor because it would come up, and they'd ask if they can see one of my movies, and I'd have to be like 'No, not at all!' It's like talking about my fake girlfriend in Canada, they were starting to doubt it."

Rogen then went on to say that because he's Canadian, the joke doesn't make much sense, but Kimmel suggested that we Canadians use "fake American girlfriends" instead.

On the show, the comedic duo also made sure to talk about Rogen's experience working with Beyonce on The Lion King, and it turns out he's just as starstruck by her as the rest of the world is.

"Beyoncé was called out and the audience stood up and went crazy and I was like, ‘She’s getting a standing ovation for just existing,'. Her mere presence was a reason to stand and go crazy and I totally got it, I was like, yeah we should be celebrating, we made it, we’re all in a room with Beyoncé.”

The Lion King will be hitting theatres on July 19th, 2019. You can check out Rogen's full interview with Jimmy Kimmel below.
