Jennifer Garner Just Proved Jump Roping Is the Cardio Challenge Your Workout Routine Needs

There are endless reasons to go heart-eyed over Jennifer Garner. Whether you're a long-time fan of 13 Going on 30 or can't get enough of her hilarious Instagram TV videos, there's no denying that Garner is beauty, wit, and brains—and, most recently, a total jump roping badass.

Earlier this week, the Love, Simon actress took to the 'gram in black leggings, a black tank top (ah, stars, they're just us), and a jump rope in hand. Garner started off slow, jumping once per rotation, before taking it to the next level with double underswhen the rope passes under her feet twice per jump. From there, the 47-year-old (who's in the best shape of her life, BTW) wowed her 8.4 million followers with none other than a triple under (!!!), where the rope passes three times per jump. (Psst...she's not the only jump rope queen on Instagram.)

In typical Garner fashion, she captioned the video, "And then, she napped. 👵🏼🥊" She accompanied her four-word phrase with the hashtags #comingforyou and #deathbybethmademedoit and called out Body By Simone (BBS) Studios master trainer, Beth Niceley.

As impressive as Garner's skills are to watch, they're even more impressive to imitate. Skipping rope is a total-body workout—toning shoulders, arms, butt, and legs—and burns more than 10 calories per minute. It's a major cardio workout that's "good for your heart and lungs, as well as your mind," according to Nick Poulin, CEO and founder of Poulin Health & Wellness in New York City. What's more, it improves agility and ankle mobility, so the more you jump rope, the stronger your joints will become and the less likely you'll experience lower leg injuries, he explains. Since it can warm up your entire body in just a few minutes, it's a great addition to any routine as a warm-up or finisher. If you want to jump rope as an hour-long workout, Poulin says you can burn a whopping 1,300 calories, which can go a long way if weight loss is the goal. And, finally, rounding out jump roping's impressive resume is the fact that's it can be really fun—evidenced by the smile planted on Garner's face.

This isn't the first time Garner's shared her sweaty routine with the world. (Case in point: Those badass strength training sessions for Peppermint.) But, this time around, it caught the eyes of fellow celebrities like Rachel Zoe, who commented, "That body though!!!" and Chelsea Handler, who wrote "Who doesn't love you??? No one!"
