Meet Bonsai, a sweet puppy who has half a body and 10 times more cuteness than we can handle.

According to the English bulldog pup’s Facebook page, Bonsai was born with a combination of rare genetic disorders, including caudal regression syndrome, sacrocaudal dysgenesis, spina bifida, and walrus puppy syndrome.

Unsure of how to care for the adorable little guy, his owners contacted Friends of Emma, a rescue organization that helps dogs with special needs.

After carefully weighing all the options, vets determined that they’d have to amputate Bonsai's non-functioning back hind legs. Buzzfeed reports that he's now doing much better post surgery. The pup has even made an amputee friend named Ransom and the pair are inseparable BFFs.

However, the road to recovery is long for Bonsai, who was lovingly named as such because it means “little tree to be molded and shaped.” Aside from more possible surgeries, he will require intensive physical therapy and lots of love and care.

Thankfully, it looks as though Bonsai has garnered a bit of a fanbse. Thousands of people are rooting for the brave little dog and a funding campaing on Petcaring.com has already raised more than $9,000.

“Bonsai is a sweet, squishy, love of a boy—demanding of his feedings and almost CONSTANT attention,” the page reads. “He loves playtime and has a silly sweet, affectionate spirit.”
