Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Are Couple Goals at This Year’s Met Gala

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are already couple goals at this year’s Met Gala, and they haven’t even gotten dressed yet. Teigen just Instagrammed a snap of the duo in bed, covered with only their hotel bed comforter. The caption reads: “Readddddy. #metball.” Well, that’s one way to coordinate your looks for one of fashion’s biggest nights.

Just a few minutes later, the photo of the parents was followed by one of daughter Luna being fitted with very adult-sized glasses whose fun, retro frames we hope to spot on Teigen very soon. In a very preppy polo shirt look, Luna looks much more prepared to hit the red carpet than her just-out-of-the-shower parents, if you ask us.

The family has been spotted strolling the streets of the city in preparation for tonight’s event, holding hands and looking more effortlessly gorgeous than ever. Just yesterday, Teigen shared a black-and-white photo of her and daughter Luna, sitting on what looks to be the stoop of a New York brownstone, writing, “My stoop buddy.” Looking pretty at-home, might we suggest a cross-country move for the family of three?

Teigen and Legend opted not to attend last year’s event, but showed up in a classic black gown tux at 2015’s Met Gala. Prior to that, Teigen selected a high-necked silver gown in 2014 and a totally sheer black gown in 2011. Whether at the Met Gala or at other red-carpet appearances, the stylish duo tends toward the classic but with a twist. Whether in a little black dress with unexpected details or a no-frills silhouette with allover embellishment, Teigen is always sure to turn heads. As for Legend, few wear a tux quite like him, so tonight should be no exception.

Though it’s a safe bet that Teigen and Legend won’t actually show up to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in the nude tonight, the minimalist approach would be an interesting one. After all, how ironic would it be to dress in little to nothing to celebrate honoree Rei Kawakubo, who is known for her over-the-top, unconventional silhouettes and shapes of excess? View our complete list of mistakes all wedding guests make.
