A Surrey family is dealing with the aftermath of a limousine crashing through the front of their home early Sunday.

Harjit Khaira said her house, the 7400-block 44th Street, suffered “big damage.” The house is on the east side of the street, just north of 74th Avenue.

Her family was asleep inside when the vehicle, a stretched Ford Excursion limousine, smashed through at about 3 a.m.

Thankfully, no one from her family was hurt, Khaira said.

“Our family is not allowed to go in,” she added. “The limo is (still) inside the house.”

The vehicle smashed through the front wall of the house, just to the right of the main entrance. To the right of the front of the vehicle, a wall collapsed, exposing the family’s kitchen to the elements.

As of noon Sunday, the structural integrity of the home was still being assessed by investigators.

Police delayed removing the vehicle due to structural concerns with the house.

The driver was reportedly taken to hospital.
