A two-alarm fire broke out Saturday afternoon at the docks in Richmond’s Steveston Harbour.

According to the Steveston Harbour Authority, the fire started on a commercial dock, but quickly spread to a storage locker shed.

The cause of the fire is  not known.

The blaze was quickly put out by first responders from Richmond Fire-Rescue, but not before several people shared footage of the smoky scene on social media.

Meanwhile, the Richmond Maritime Festival, which was being held in the area when the fire began, has been closed down for the remainder of the evening, according to a statement from the City of Richmond. It will resume Sunday at 11 a.m.
