Coronavirus: Canada’s top doctors won’t say if they’ve received direct threats

Asked about public health officials in the U.S. and Australia each reporting experiencing threats due to the roles they occupy, and if they themselves have experienced such, Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam said it was a really tough job and there will be people not happy “with what you’re doing,” but did not say if she’s faced any threatening language or action. She and deputy chief medical officer of health Dr. Howard Njoo said they work with the public’s best interest at heart and work to “safeguard the health” of Canadians.
