Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze isn't interested in any potential head coaching job offers he may receive in the near future.

"I won't even entertain things of that nature at this point," Freeze told ESPN on Saturday. "I'm at total peace with staying here, as long as they'll have me."

Freeze has done an impressive job to start the 2020 season, helping Liberty to remain unbeaten after eight games. The Flames currently rank 21st in the AP Poll.

The 51-year-old coach, who recently signed a contract extension with Liberty through 2026, has been linked to South Carolina, which became the first Power 5 school to part ways with its head coach this season after firing Will Muschamp last week.

"There's always that itch. Like man, I want to prove it, I want to go do it, and I want to do it in that biggest arena that I can," Freeze said. "So, yeah, I'm made that way."

Freeze previously coached Ole Miss from 2012-16, amassing a 39-25 record during his tenure with the Rebels. He would eventually see 27 of those wins vacated due to NCAA violations.

Liberty posted an 8-5 record in 2019, Freeze's first season with the team.
