Military not a long-term answer to long-term care problems: PM

Though the federal government was willing to send the Canadian Forces to assist in long-term care homes hit hard by COVID-19, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said after a UN conference Thursday they can only be a stopgap, not a permanent solution to staffing problems. Quebec Premier François Legault has said he hopes the military can keep helping in his province until mid-September.
