Canada fans proud after first World Cup goal, despite ousting from tournament
Fans screamed, jumped out of their seats and embraced each other at a sold-out watch party in Toronto Sunday as Alphonso Davies scored Canada’s first-ever World Cup goal. But the jubilation gave way to disappointment after Croatia came back with four consecutive goals to win the game, ending the team’s hopes of advancing in the tournament.
