Two Humpback Whales Lunge in Sync for Food off California Coast

Wildlife videographer and whale-watcher Domenic Biagini recorded this video in March of a pair of humpback whales lunge-feeding simultaneously near San Diego, California. Biagini told Storyful that the duo formed part of a wider group of humpback whales in the area. He said it was “unusual for Humpbacks to stay and feed in San Diego, but due to an unusual abundance of fish, we had as many as 25 whales in our coastal waters feeding for the majority of March. Generally Humpbacks just swim past San Diego on their way north towards the central California coast.” Credit: Domenic Biagini via Storyful
