Vehicle slams into house causing explosion: police

Dozens of people in London, Ont., have been displaced after a vehicle crashed into a natural gas line that caused an explosion that destroyed one home and set others ablaze. A spokeswoman for the city says seven homes were "severely impacted" by the fire, which started late Wednesday night, and about 100 have been evacuated. A 23-year-old woman from nearby Kitchener faces five charges, including four counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm. Seven people — including four firefighters and two police officers — were taken to hospital. One firefighter is in serious condition and the other people received minor injuries. Investigators say they expect to be on the scene for several days.
