The Queen’s official birthday

The Queen celebrates two birthdays each year: her actual birthday on 21 April and her official birthday on the second Saturday in June. The idea of the official birthday dates back to 1748 and George II, who felt that the weather would be too cold to celebrate his birthday in November. So, he moved his birthday to the summer. As you do.
